our little family…

…is growing. literally! these photos are from our lovely baby shower in ca [march 6th]. this week is the last week of school and i am sooo excited!!! wish me luck for my portfolio showing this thursday. i promise to be back to share lots after i am all finished up! wooo hooo!

love list.

there are so many things i miss about tommy when he is away. i love having him back and taking in every little thing that makes me love him that much more. as much as i don’t like being away from him, i love that this time makes us appreciate our time together that much more. we took the photos about while in the middle of our chocolate covered strawberry making. here are some of the things i am loving now that i have my other half back with me:

i love having him kiss my belly
i love falling asleep next to him
i love it when our little one sometimes kicks him as we fall asleep
i love having him to talk to before i close my eyes for the night
i love looking over at him in the car and just knowing he is right there next to me
i love having him tell me stories that bring me to tears from laughter
i love having him to go on walks with
i love having some of our best conversations on those walks
i love him constantly asking me how our little guy is doing
i love it when he attempts speaking spanish to my belly
i love it that when we’re not together that he tells me to let our little man know that he loves him
i love randomly dancing in the kitchen with him
i love having him to wake up to
i love being able to hold his hand again
i love how safe he makes me feel
i love having him come through the door when i’m home before him
i love bugging him just to the point where it makes me laugh a little
i love taking in every single hug
i love being able to know how much he loves me without him even saying it directly
i love that i could add so much more to this list…

[our weekend at a glance]

this past weekend was very low key and we loved every minute of it. we started off the weekend early on thursday afternoon and went to see a movie {this is a big deal for us since i really am not a fan of movies. yes i know. i’m a tad bit odd}. we had dinner saturday night at our favorite washington sushi restaurant. i ordered my favorite dish {ginger and garlic glazed chicken with tempura and california rolls}. so yummy {and fully cooked! no saw foods for me!}. we then got my favorite chocolate milk at my favorite grocery store {yes, i have a favorite grocery store} and also picked up some chocolate for homemade chocolate covered strawberries {needless to say that i had a tad bit more than tommy}. sunday was some more lounging and watching this movie on the couch {i wanted to see it with him before he was off but we never got around to it. i waited for him to come back to watch it. i knew we’d get around to it some time.} a mist all this lounging around the house there were lots of walks around the neighborhood.

hello loves & happy friday! i love the sillyness and in these photos. although they didn’t really turn out how i would have liked i wanted to share them with you because to me they’re perfectly imperfect. tommy was making me laugh so much. he kept on just doing his own thing and would put his head right next to our love.bump. he had katherine {she was taking the photos} and i laughing a lot. although the sun in shinning it was a very chilly day! tommy didn’t want to take off his fuzzy sweater for our little shoot. {he loves his new sweater! i love hugging him when he’s wearing it because it’s so soft.}

it’s been too long…

hello friends! i promise i have not forgotten about you. i’ve missed you all dearly. i am so excited to be back today sharing some more love.bump photos {week twenty-seven}. oh my oh my have we grown since you last saw us at twenty-two weeks. when i slipped on this dress and turned to the side in the mirror i was shocked at the size of my belly. it’s not like i don’t see us every day but it just hit me that we have grown oh-so-very-much! look at that roundness in photo four {those are babies first shoes}. today was sunny day number two this week! it’s been really nice to have some sunshine. it’s still quite chilly though. i’ll see you all very soon! pinky promise!

like & love

{call me mushy. call me lovey dovey. but i still wanted to share my like & love list for mr. mac. i don’t usually share notes that i write to him but i thought i’d try something new.} i’m lucky enough to hear from tommy almost every day {usually fifteen minute phone calls. that’s his limit} but the other day i hadn’t heard from him and when i went to lay down i started to miss him a bit more than usual. so i wrote him a note {i love making lists. so it’s no surprise that my note to my sweet other-half turn into a like & love list} {loving:this poster}

today i missed getting a big smile on my face from your daily phone call.
{lately i honestly cannot help myself}
i love hearing your voice.
i like to know you’re safe.
i like to tell you i love you.
i like how you tease me just the right amount {& make me laugh}.
i love telling you how our love.bump is doing.
i love how his little kicks are getting stronger {& how they scare me a little bit every once in a while}.
i love how i was distracted in class today when i saw my hand jump a tad bit while i touched our bump.
i love how this precious little gift is just as much me and it is you.
i love the thought of watching you hold him in your {hairy} arms for the first time
{oh yes- that reminds me… of how i love that your hairyness is one our little jokes}

jetting off…

…once again. back to washington i go. this month long california stay went by so much faster than expected. partly because i brought the washington whether with me {there was at least ten rainy days while i was here} & partly because i got sick for a number of days {didn’t step out of the house at all for three days}. although i wasn’t planning on rain & a cold, i’m still so grateful that i’ve been able to share this time with family and friends. it’s always great being home. this weekend i’m going to soak up as much sun as i can, at least make one trip to the beach, enjoy as much delicious home-made mexican food as i can without making my belly too uncomfortable for baby mac, and most importantly enjoy the company of the people i love. early monday morning i’ll be landing in seattle {i hope it’s not too cold!} {photos above are of the california coast from my last flight}

christmas in a box

of course nothing can replace being with loved ones for the holidays but here is a peek at what i sent my {sweeter than a cupcake- as i like to put it} hubby to bring the holidays to him. i kept it simple yet personal by adding little tags on each item. {box contained: ho ho ho stocking, some of his fav candy: reese’s, twix, & scotchmellows from see’s, baby name book that i covered & labeled: “i know we’ll pick the perfect one,” sonogram photos labeled: “our little one,” & a puppy christmas card since he loves pups so much}

i was actually was a bit nervous that tommy would not get his christmas package that also had the envelope with our little secret in it. a phone call on the twenty-third telling me, “it’s like christmas here right now. we just got received a ton of packages,” put me at ease. {the weather hadn’t been too great and mail had not been coming in for some time}. my thoughts when he told me this: “yes!!! that means mine should be somewhere in there.” it was! phew!

there are so many beautiful parties and events just floating around the internet. here are some that i just could not resist sharing {i highly suggest clicking on each photo for a full spread}. it seems like i’m attracted to somewhat or an organic look with a lot of neutrals. i do love pops of color though {perhaps a pop of blue or green!}.

drink up

sometimes the biggest challenge when you get a large group together is… {any guesses!} keeping track of your drink. so simple but yet so confusing at times. two simple solutions: jot down your name on some pretty japanese tape {hey i already have some! perfect!} and tag your drink with it & printing your name on a sweet little flag and popping it right in! {click on photos to link to source}
